Easy positioning and installation of your dish antenna with accurate satellite display:

Dish alignment, pointing, and installation have always been a complex task, especially if you have no prior knowledge. That is why I am introducing this application that will simplify this process and allow you to install and align your antenna or satellite dish without the need to hire a specialist.

SatCatcher is a satellite finder and dish pointer that enables you to orient your antenna towards any satellite. Through augmented reality, this application displays the target satellite in space, helping you choose the optimal location for your antenna or satellite dish while ensuring there are no obstacles such as walls or trees.

SatCatcher also utilizes your phone's GPS to show your current location on a map and provides the direction of the satellite from your position.

The compass, accompanied by a beep, assists you in orienting your antenna or satellite dish by following the acceleration of the beeps or the arrow on the compass. Additionally, the accelerometer verifies that the holder of your antenna remains vertical.

The adjustment steps for your antenna or satellite dish are as follows:

1. Choose a satellite and authorize geolocation to determine the direction for antenna orientation.
2. Show the satellite in augmented reality using your camera, ensuring there are no obstacles, and validating the location of your antenna.
3. Check that the support of your antenna remains vertical.
4. Calculate the polarization and adjust the rotation of the LNB (the head of your antenna).
5. Set the elevation.
6. Search for orientation with visual and sound assistance.
7. Make fine adjustments.

For the optimal functioning of the application, SatCatcher requires access to your smartphone's camera, compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, and GPS.

Tips:

• If your smartphone does not have GPS, you can manually move the "marker" on the map until it accurately represents your location. Use zoom for more detailed placement.
• The compass is essential to adjust your dish. If your smartphone doesn't have one, you can still use the application for guidance. It will provide you with clues and marks on the map from your location and allow you to calculate the orientation. In this case, you can use a manual compass to achieve accurate orientation.
• Recalibrate the compass if needed and keep it away from the antenna arm as it is sensitive to metallic elements. Place your smartphone where there is minimal magnetic interference.
